Abstrakt

Social sources of the criteria of science’s rationality

The article explores the route leading from Thomas Kuhn and Paul Feyerabend, tackling the Vienna Circle idea of a scientific method as the embodiment of rational thought, to the blunt statement of the “Edinburgh School” representatives that there is no such thing as a neutral court of appeal between the world and the theory and, ultimately, the knowing and the thing known are not separable.
