Thinking as involvement in reality — Heidegger’s revision of idealism and realism

The focus of this article is the interpretation of Martin Heidegger’s revision of idealism and realism. Heidegger’s approach to idealism and realism is discussed in the context of his concept of being as presencing Anwesen and thinking as receptivity Vernehmen. This allows to show that the core of Heidegger’s dispute with the classical stance of idealism and realism is the proper diagnosis of the dependence of reality on the human being. In the article, I read this dependence as a necessity of preserving by human being, through our thinking, a relationship with reality — involvement in it.
