Vulgarisms and swearing as verbal aggression

Abstract

Vulgarisms are well situated to express emotions as their primary meanings are connotative. The main purpose of swearing is to express emotions, especially anger and frustration. On the basis of the explanation of vulgarisms varieties as a function of communication context, the following paper sheds light on the connection between vulgarisms, swearing and verbal aggression. The discussion highlights the most important features of these.
