Abstrakt

The purpose of the article is to indicate that although basic economic theorems are a priori in nature, they should be considered as empirical statements, because of the implicit empirical observations hidden in them. An a priori nature of elementary economics stems from its ahistorical character, not from it being an epistemological companion to mathematics.
