Between ingratiation and ludicity: Reflections on the culture of academic reviews
After some introductory remarks concerning the typical features of academic reviews, 400 texts have been analyzed in order to find out whether they are compatible with the academic review text pattern. Having examined these academic reviews concerning avast array of philological themes, it can be claimed that aconsiderable part of them approximately 180 contains alarge number of unexpected, ludic or ingratiating components. After acritical discussion of the above-mentioned phenomena, the author expresses his opinion about this way of academic reviews writing.
