Ukrainian military folklore: Dynamics and statics of the generation of meaning
Investigated here is the feature of folklore that is created in a crisis situation — a war. The article is devoted to the analysis of traditional and new forms of folk text production and mechanisms of incrementing new meanings. Basing on the folk texts of diff erent genres the author studies the ways of transmission of a folklore product as a system of gradual transfer folk meaning in a society. The author also proves that military folklore refl ects, formed over the centuries, traditions of armed protection of a society, values, ideals and beliefs.
