Abstrakt

Beginning of the Polish scientific discourse – the language of works by Marcin Bielski and Stanisław Grzepski

The following features of the scientific discourse appearing in the 16^th-century works are discussed in this article: objectivity, exactness, clarity, methodicality and intertextuality. These features can be observed in a selection of proper language units, and their frequency in Grzepski’s work is higher than the one in M. Bielski’s chronicle. Existence of these language units shows that in the 16^th-century the Polish scientific language was different from the standard language. Examined sources: M.
