REGARDING THE SUBJECT “THE HISTORY OF THE STATE AND THE POLISH LAW” AT THE FACULTY OF LAW, ADMINISTRATION AND ECONOMICS, UNIVERSITY OF WROCŁAW
With the academic year of 2013/2014 “The history of the state and the Polish law” is no longer a standalone lecture at the Faculty of Law of the University of Wrocław. This discipline was incorporated into the general subject “The history of state and law,” which may blur the native history of political and legal institutions.
The diversity of political regimes of the Republic of Poland, as well as the mosaic of its legal systems, have contributed to the development of national identity and have created a specifically Polish legal culture. Knowledge of the historical continuity of the Polish state and the law provides a sense of community, which is an intrinsic value of our law and national consciousness. Polish national and legal history is a discipline with rich historiography and a significant academic background, necessary for a thorough education of future lawyers.
