This article attempts a speculative reflection on the political character of deflationary strategies in art and curating. Referring to the history of experimental institutionalism, the author demonstrates that strategies such as unlearning reflect post-foundational and post-communist thinking about political community. Despite their declared commitment to building (future) communities, their proponents face difficulties in articulating the upcoming polis.
