The Spanish theatre of the 20^th century in Poland: two translations of Luces de bohemia

The first part of the article deals with the presence of the Spanish theatre of the 20^th century on Polish stages and existing translations of the works. This survey allows us to say that apart from the works of Federico Garcia Lorca Spanish drama has been known to a Polish reader and spectator to a very small degree. The second part of the article discusses and compares two translations of Valle-Inclan’s play, Luces de bohemia. Both versions contain numerous mistakes resulting from misunderstanding of the original text.
