Serranillas by Marquis de Santillana in the Polish translation

In the article we study Polish translations of four serranillas by Ińigo López de Mendoza. We argue that the Polish 20^th century versions of the 15^th century Castillian poems present the femenine character in a different, more dignified way. We discuss to what extent this specific interpretation breaks the rules of the serranilla literary genre.
