Usefulness of the biographical perspective in the study of dispositional groups

Abstract

The article is an attempt to assess the usefulness of biographical interviews in the study of dispo-sitional groups’ functioning. General theoretical arguments for the use of a biographical perspective and their empirical illustration referring to a specific interview are presented. The recommended perspective allows us to obtain data which are difficult to be found in any another way, neutralizes some of the obstacles associated with ‘difficult research fields,’ and provides material for formulating fertile hypotheses.
