This paper is an analysis of the latest case laws of the European Court of Human Rights regarding the prisoners’ right to respect for private and family life. Judicates were selected based on a division into domestic (Polish) cases and cases from the other Council of Europe member states. The newest judgments have been analyzed within the title issue. The purpose of this analysis is to examine the most common arguments in the ECHR’s judicial decisions, with a view that there has been a violation of Article 8 of the ECHR and to outline the Court’s standards in that matter. In addition, the article focuses on the duration of the whole ECHR’s proceedings and the amounts of damages awarded by the Court under Article 41 of the ECHR.
