The article is devoted to linguistic reflections related to the local names Racibórz and Miedonia, which administratively belongs to it. The etymology of the first form and the pronunciation of the second one are recalled. The second part of the article is a linguistic and stylistic analysis of the play Pierońsko komedyja by Łukasz J. Porwoł, written in the Racibórz area dialect.
