French discourse analysis and its reception in Poland
The Author emphasizes the ambiguity of the term “discourse” in a variety of linguistic traditions, she concentrates, however, on the French conception of discourse. The Author defines its sources and history which lie at its foundation in order to focus in greater detail on the presentation of the output of the French discourse analysts’ contemporary thought, the definition of the key concept and delineation of its interdisciplinary nature. Further, she discusses more closely the problems of Polish textology and the position which the immigrant-word “discourse” has recently assumed in it. Finally, the Author juxtaposes both visions of discursivity and attempts to interpret the reception of the French theory of discourse in Poland.
