PUBLIC LAW
Nowadays, the autonomy of courts and independence of judges are the fundamental attributes of justice in a democratic legal state. On the grounds of the constitutional system of Finland, the Basic Law of 1999 creates a dualistic judicial system of common and administrative courts. The purpose of this study is to subject the provisions of the Finnish Basic Law creating the constitutional basis of the organisation and functioning of the common judiciary in Finland to legal analysis, which allows us to make a conclusion, that courts act as objective and impartial bodies, making decisions relatively uniform in similar cases. In their rulings they are independent and are not subject to state control in the field of the judiciary. Court judgments are the final measure guaranteeing the parties᾿ respect of their rights in relations with the state.
