Abstrakt

The creation of the Department of History of Administration at the University of Wrocław

The author presents the origins and circumstances of the creation of the Department of History of Administration at the University of Wrocław, the first failed attempts of its establishment in 1970 and 1972 and a successful completion in 1984. The author discusses it against the background of the emergence and development of similar research units in Poland and the role and importance of history of administration as an academic discipline, its place among historical and legal subjects and as one of the subjects of teaching in the context of administrative studies. It is associated with organizational and didactic changes that took place during this period at the Faculty of Law and Administration at the University of Wrocław, which ultimately led to the establishment of the Department. The author also shows the role played in the creation of that Department by the leadership of the Institute of History of State and Law, and especially prof. Alfred Konieczny, the initiator of creation and the first head of this Department.

Die Entstehung der Abteilung für Verwaltungsgeschichte an der Universität Wrocław

Der Verfasser stellt in seinem Beitrag die Geschichte und Umstände der Entstehung des als eine Bildungseinheit verstandenen Seminars für Verwaltungsgeschichte an der Universität Wrocław dar – die ersten, fehlgeschlagenen Versuche von 1970 und 1972 und die mit Erfolg gekrönten von 1984. Er tut das vor dem Hintergrund der Entstehung und Entwicklung ähnlicher Forschungseinheiten in Polen sowie der Funktion und Bedeutung des Faches Verwaltungsgeschichte als einer wissenschaftlichen Disziplin, ihrer Position unter den rechtshistorischen Fächern sowie als eines der didaktischen Fächer im Rahmen des Verwaltungsstudiums. Das ist mit den organisatorischen und didaktischen Änderungen verbunden, die zu der besprochenen Zeit an der Fakultät für Rechts- und Verwaltungswissenschaften der Universität Wrocław stattfanden und zuletzt die Entstehung des Seminars ermöglichten. Der Verfasser zeigt auch die Rolle, die bei der Entstehung der genannten Einheit die Direktion des Instituts für Staats- und Rechtsgeschichte, hier insbesondere Prof. Alfred Konieczny, der Initiator ihrer Gründung und ihr erster Leiter, gespielt hat.
