On the lexical ways of reporting valuations
The paper is an attempt to organize and discuss the structures reporting one’s evaluative statements in Polish. I suggest that the ways of quoting and reporting valuations should be divided into those made a in indirect speech and b beyond indirect speech. I will try to go beyond the language structure towards the ways language is used and place in my field of interest the pragmatic elements accomp anying the language processes such as expres sing the distance or generalization of reported opinions for various purposes, e.g. to convince or to influence somebody.
