Aphorism’s sing-song. Nietzsche’s thinking of music

Nietzsche’s writing is always promising, yet it never fails to provide something unexpected. It is Nietzsche’s intention to express in only a few phrases what others fail to say within a number of books, as the element of his thought is the aphorism, a literary form most commonly used to enable possible rather than recognised meanings. There have been numerous attempts at interpreting Nietzschean philosophy through the use of various metaphors, such as the excursion, the climb or moving in circles. Taking into account Nietzsche’s writing strategy, I suggest looking at his work from a musical perspective; I wish to observe the purpose of „musicality” for the philosopher and to discern the level on which music — most importantly the ability to listen to it — can claim any actual significance among the endless creativity of the will to power. I also undertake the question of dancing, related mostly to the admiration Nietzsche expresses towards the vigorous and very physical nature of the aphorism.
