Recommended bibliography in Poland – has it ceased to be necessary?

The article presents the history and evolution of recommended bibliography in Poland and the USSR. The author points to the subjects of various publications, criteria of material and reader choice, anniversaries of various events and the political situation, which influenced the form of recommended publications in Poland. She also describes how the main objectives of such lists have changed over the years.
