Beyond the last horizon. The poetic language in Altazor by Vicente Huidobro

The intention of this paper is to characterize the gradual transformation of the poetic language in Altazor by Vicente Huidobro as one of the most important means of the long poem’s textual cohesion. The article examines the language of the seven songs in order to demonstrate that the following parts of the text form a consistent process of dismemberment of the language system which leads to its final destruction and to the creation of a completely new, poetic language.
