Prace Literackie (Literary Studies) is a peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Institute of Polish Philology at the University of Wrocław. The journal has been published since December 1956. It was founded by prof. Tadeusz Mikulski, and subsequently chief-edited by distinguished researchers of polish literary studies, prof. Bogdan Zakrzewski, prof. Lesław Tatarowski and prof. Marian Ursel. In 2020, the editor-in-chief of the journal became prof. Małgorzata Łoboz.
Prace Literackie is a journal with a literary studies profile, taking into account broad interpretative contexts of both Polish and world literature. The editors are particularly interested in articles in the field of literary studies, dealing with the following issues:
All articles should follow the standards of scholarly publication. We do not accept literary works (poetry, prose, drama) or literary journalism (except reviews) for printing.
Both distinguished researchers and scientifically debuting Polish philologists and PhD students have published in the journal.
Prace Literackie is an open access journal. The publisher guarantees free and permanent online access to the content of every issue, with no embargo period and no technical barriers, including no requirement for users to register to read content.
From 2015 authors retain the copyright to their articles (© Author) and full publishing rights and grant the publisher of the journal a non-exclusive licence for the publication of the paper, free of charge.
From 2023 articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International licence (CC BY 4.0), a copy of which is available at https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/.
This licence allows you to share and adapt the published content on the condition that you give appropriate credit, provide a link to the licence, and indicate if changes were made.
Authors can archive their articles as a preprint, postprint or as its final version published in the journal on the condition that the information that the text first appeared in Prace Literackie is provided.
The journal is archived in both print and electronic format by the National Library of Poland.
Abstracts of articles published in Prace Literackie can be found in the database of the Czasopisma Naukowe w Sieci (CNS), Erih+ as well as in The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (on the basis of an appropriate agreement between WUWr and CEJSH), as well as in EBSCO, CEEOL, Federacja Bibliotek Cyfrowych and Europeana. Thanks to the agreement of the Institute of Polish Philology with the MLA Directory of Periodicals, copies of the journal are also sent to the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts database (CSA, ProQuest).
