Abstract

Based on the Lenisky’s model, the Polish Prosecutor’s office has the competences of taking measures outside of criminal law, including precautionary and ex-post supervision of local law. The article discusses its legal status, and background, as well as the practice of applying provisions related to the Prosecutor’s supervision of local law. The article assesses the contribution of the Prosecutor’s authority of strengthening rule of law and indicates deficiencies in the outlined legal regulations.
