A New Chapter in the Development of Volunteer Fire Brigades

Abstract

In December 2021, the Sejm of the Republic of Poland of the 9th term passed the Act on Volunteer Fire Brigades. The Act is part of a series of ongoing and planned changes to the organization of public safety, the purpose of which is to ensure protection of the population, and which requires the necessary actions on the part of public administration. Thanks to factors such as increased co-financing of Volunteer Fire Brigades, improvement of legal regulations and the introduction of new benefits for volunteer firefighters, fire protection will reach a higher organizational level.
