An object enduring in time and a process

The article is devoted to the problem of relationship between processes and enduring objects. In the history of philosophy the enduring objects substances have been conceived as subjects of processes changes but it is rather unclear what has been seen as a subject of change in them and especially how being a subject of change is different from being a subject of properties. The author’s attempt to elucidate the relationship in question starts with an analysis of the commonsense view of processes and enduring objects. He subsequently presents Roman Ingarden’s ontology of processes and enduring objects. The third part of the paper contains an analysis of main problems of this ontology. The author puts forward two theses: 1 to be a subject of a process is not the same as to have some processual aspects; 2 processes are special subjects of properties.
