Abstrakt

On the liberal concept of good

The author attempts to characterize the liberal concept of good — its philosophical background, societal implications, and moral justification — showing that it allows for grounding democratic institutions and at the same time includes the interests and needs of people. The author’s interpretation is based on John Stuart Mill’s concept of liberty, conceived as paradigmatic for the modern understanding of freedom and formulating contemporary socio-political discourse.
