The journal as a joint international project of the University of Wrocław and the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv (Ukraine) is financed by both universities.

The yearbook is published alternately by the Wrocław and Lviv centres.

Aims and scope

The aim of “Wrocławsko-Lwowskie Zeszyty Prawnicze” [Wrocław-Lviv Legal Studies] is to promote the legal culture of Poland and Ukraine and to foster scientific cooperation between two important academic centres – the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław and the Faculty of Law of the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv.

The journal publishes:

  1. Scholarly articles presenting the results of research primarily in the field of legal, administrative and economic sciences relating primarily to Poland and Ukraine. Articles on political science and history may also be published if they are in line with the programme of the journal.
  2. Reviews of legal, economic and administrative science publications.
  3. Reports of scientific conferences and symposia.

 

Strategy and purpose of the journal

The journal “Wrocławsko-Lwowskie Zeszyty Prawnicze” is primarily aimed at providing an overview of the latest trends in Polish and Ukrainian legislation, as well as presenting the state of research on the theory, history of law and individual branches of law in Poland and Ukraine.

Additional objectives of the journal are:

  • to promote legal culture in both countries and to foster scientific cooperation between the important academic centres of the Faculty of Law, Administration and Economics of the University of Wrocław and the Faculty of Law of the Ivan Franko National University in Lviv;
  • working towards rapprochement between the two nations by publishing in the journal texts on Polish-Ukrainian political, economic, social, historical, cultural and scientific relations;
  • successively broadening the journal's substantive level, its thematic scope, attracting authors from other national and foreign scientific centres;
  • co-organising international conferences and supporting the scientific activities of young researchers in law, administration, economics by enabling them to publish and organise scientific events.

The journal is committed to the highest ethical, editorial and content-related standards in order to contribute to enhancing the reputation of Polish and Ukrainian science.

The journal aims to popularise science and works to increase its audience through the OPEN ACCESS policy (see Publishing Policies).

The Editorial Team of the journal encourages authors to include information about articles published in the journal in databases, scientific services (ORCID, GOOGLE SCHOLAR), providing a link to the journal’s website.

Ministry of Science evaluation and indexation in databases

According to the list of scientific journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of 5 January 2024, authors receive 40 points for publication in the journal.

Abstracts of articles published in the journal can be found on the its website, in the CEEOL database, and ~ based on a relevant agreement between the publisher and CEJSH – in the database of The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, as well as in Erih+, the Digital Library Federation and Europeana.

The journal is registered in PBN and Pol-index.
