„Wrocławskie Studia Wschodnie” [Wroclaw Eastern Studies] is a scholarly journal founded in 1997 by Professor Antoni Kuczyński, who served as the journal’s editor-in-chief for many years. For a long time, it was devoted to the history of contacts of Poland and Polish people with the European and Eurasian „East” from the Middle Ages to the 20th century, considered from the historical, ethnographic and cultural studies perspectives. At present, the profile of „Wrocławskie Studia Wschodnie” has a broader character and serves the purpose of publishing articles in the field of social sciences and humanities dealing with the broadly understood category of „the East”, which is understood as a product of multiple processes at different scales of the globalising world. The texts published in the journal deal with historical as well as contemporary issues and range from classical source analyses to those using the critical theoretical tools of the humanities and social sciences.
The journal is indexed in: Czasopisma Naukowe w Sieci (CNS), The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities, EBSCO, Federacji Bibliotek Cyfrowych i Europeanie.
