The article examines the introduction of digital terrestrial television. The new system of television broadcasting is a revolution in the digital media market. Qualitative changes and a bigger offer of terrestrial television also have a cultural impact. What needs to be emphasised is a necessity for media education, which would raise the viewers’ awareness and activity.
