Is this really sport? How e-sports become professional and what becomes of it
The article is an attempt to analyze gamers as a social group in Poland. That group has been stigmatized and partly excluded, which led to its withdrawal to privacy and lack of presence in public.
The author tries to analyze the change in perception of gamers in public, and ponders about the circumstances which led the gamer scene to shift from hobbists to partly professionals. He analyzes theprofit possibilities that emerged in MMOs and e-sports with the expansion of internet.
The analyzis leads the author to the conclusion that e-sports are becoming professional sports now, which allows gamers to fully fulfill themselves and their goals in public space.
