Vol. 29 (2021)

The twenty-ninth volume of Estudios Hispánicos (2021), entitled “Memorias disidentes en las literaturas y culturas hispánicas”, edited by Łukasz Smuga and Jorge Luis Peralta, consists of two parts. The monographic section contains 11 articles analysing egodocuments (autobiographies, diaries, and memoirs), as well as autofictional works by sexual minority authors from three Spanish-speaking countries (Spain, Mexico, and Chile). The second part of the volume (“Varia”) comprises 6 papers by Hispanic studies scholars from Poland. The articles from this section belong to different disciplines: translation, journalism, theatre, and history studies. What they have in common is the reflection on the encounter with otherness in the broad sense of that word, and on the possibilities of adapting various genres of artistic expression to new contexts.
