Abstrakt

The international enterprise in networking perspective

This approach claims that the business network, in which each subsidiary as well as its parent firm is embedded, is a specific network of business relationships, which are more or less distinct from the network of other subsidiaries. Since each subsidiary identifies just the problems and opportunities in its own business network, it tends to strive either for autonomy or to influence other parts of the enterprise in a direction that supports the development of its own business. The underlying theme in the business network theory is that any firm is affected most by its own business environment rather that by its institutional environment, and this is equally true of the subsidiaries in an international enterprise.
