The Advisory Board is a collegial body of the journal Literatura and Kultura Popularna. It consists of expert scholars from various countries and representing various disciplines of the humanities. The members of the Advisory Board are appointed by the Publisher on a proposal from the Editor-in-Chief. Most of the members of the Advisory Board are senior academic staff members. On appointing the members of the Advisory Board the significance of scientific degrees and titles in particular countries is taken into account.
The members of the Advisory Board are the Editor-in-Chief’s advisory and consultative team. They co-decide on accepting articles for reviewing, the choice of reviewers, and the content of the forthcoming issues. The Advisory Board is entitled to point out prospective authors to be specially invited to contribute to particular issues of the journal. The invitation does not extempt the sent texts from the customary procedures and does not ensure publishing.
The Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Staff and the Advisory Board evaluate the submitted articles only as to their substance. The preliminary decision concerning the further proceeding of a given article is made by the Editor-in-Chief in consultation with the Editorial Staff. The Author is sent the decision concerning the rejection of his/her article by the Editorial Secretary. The article accepted by the Editor-in-Chief and the Editorial Staff is sent to the members of the Advisory Board specializing in a given field or discipline for consultation. The chosen members of the Advisory Board then decide about further proceeding of the article as well as propose reviewers. In the case of any controversies the final decision is made by the Editor-in-Chief.
The Advisory Board meets once a year in a physical or virtual form. The time, place and form of the meeting are defined by the Editor-in-Chief in agreement with the members of the Advisory Board. The meetings are devoted to current matters concerning the journal, the form of the forthcoming issues, and the editorial policy for the next years. The members of the Advisory Board are asked to propose prospective expert reviewers both from Poland and from abroad. During the year the members of the Advisory Board are asked – orally or in writing – for consultations concerning the incoming articles.
