Transfeminism and gore capitalism

Abstract

Valencia is the author of the concept of gore capitalism based on a diagnosis of male violence as the modus operandi of capitalism in its current phase (Valencia 2010); in many parts of the world, gendered violence is one of the primary tools of capital accumulation. In this text, she relates this concept to transfeminism and argues for the liberation of masculinity from its toxic and destructive love affair with capitalism. Since no one is born a man only becomes one, he can always become differently, outside the framework set by the hegemonic pattern of masculinity.
