This paper is based on a presentation given during the 1st Congress of Youth in the Workers’ Movement organized by the All-Poland Trade Union Workers’ Initiative. The Congress took place on August 15-17, 2020, at the Rozbrat squat in Poznań, Poland. The paper consists of three parts. The first part discusses the theory of class composition and the historical conditions of its formation. The second part concerns historical transformations of class composition in the capitalist economy, while the third part applies the theory of class composition to describe contemporary production relations prevailing in the Polish construction industry.
