The aim of this article is to present yōkai in culture: literature, film and anime. In addition, it is equally important to discuss the part yōkai play in mythology and folklore and how it is related to popular culture, as well as their definition. The subject of the research will be selected anime titles in which yōkai have a special relationship with people. The consequences of these relationships will also be discussed.
