About

The journal Studia Linguistica is published under the auspices of the Institute of German Studies, University of Wrocław. The themes discussed in the journal encompass issues concerning General and Comparative Linguistics in the wide sense of these terms. We welcome submissions from different linguistic disciplines, including not only general and comparative linguistics (i.e. phonology, morphology, syntax, and semantics) but also historical linguistics, pragmatics, sociolinguistics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, and the philosophy of language. We also welcome research related to the applications of the results of contrastive studies in translation, communication studies, lexicography, language acquisition and language teaching. Not only is this journal a place for the exchange of views within the domestic context but also a means of transferring linguistic ideas from abroad. As a journal open to researchers from Poland, Europe, and the rest of the world, it enables the authors to publish papers in different languages.

We publish original empirical, theoretical, and review papers, as well as short research reports and critical reviews. The editors may occasionally decide to invite articles related to a specific topic. The article review procedure complies with the guidelines of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education published in the document “Good Practices in Review Procedures in Science”, Warsaw 2011. The Editorial Board seeks to prevent cases of ghost-writing and guest authorship, which are manifestations of scholarly dishonesty.

The abstracts of the papers published in Studia Linguistica can be found in the following databases: Czasopisma Naukowe w Sieci (CNS) (Academic Journals on the Web), Erih Plus, EBSCO, The Central European Journal of Social Sciences and Humanities (on a basis of a contract between the Publishing House of the University of Wrocław (WUWr) and CEJSH), Federacja Bibliotek Cyfrowych (Polish Digital Libraries Federation), and Europeana Collections. Thanks to the agreement between the Publishing House and MLA Directory of Periodicals, copies of the journal are also sent to the Cambridge Scientific Abstracts (CSA, ProQuest) database.
