Prediction markets and their application in global economy
The article presents the idea of prediction markets as a forecasting tool. The author shows conditions for functioning of such markets, as well as the types of prediction markets where the differences depend on the kind of contracts. The largest part of the article is devoted to the most famous prediction markets used in various fields in global economy and the evolution of prediction markets.
