Responsibility in the philosophy of Andrzej Nowicki

In this article I tried to describe responsibility as a concept which plays an important role in the philosophy of Andrzej Nowicki. The meaning of responsibility in his philosophical system of “meeting in things” is at the same time a secret, because responsibility was rarely an explicite subject of Nowicki’s writings. Dimensions and shades of responsibility were introduced in the context of notions, like works, meeting, utopia and posterity. In ergantrophic philosophy responsibility is what Jacek Filek called “positive responsibility.” Such an understanding of responsibility is realized by creating valuable works which enrich the world of culture. Under the assumptions of ergantrophy and originality of the social existence of people, responsibility in Nowicki’s philosophy is always associated with self-responsibility and co-responsibility.
