Abstrakt

Education in the face of the growth of the global knowledge society based on the political education system in Germany

Nowadays a suitable social education determines the progress of civilisation. That is why the most important aim to achieve is to create full access to knowledge and information as well as to discover what kind of means are essential for building the society directed on constant and sustainable development. Although there is no political need to unify local particular education systems of each EU-Member’s country, which has a free hand in forming its own, but at the end of 90’s in the past century it has arised a new idea about creating the general European Education Area based, besides the usual school system, on non-formal education curried by family, peer groups and on long-life education media, religious education systems, art institutions, non-governmental organizations or others. Diff erent policy areas included in local education systems, aft er taking into account present competitiveness and globalization conditions, have to identify the suitable political education, which will form political attitudes and public awareness in democratic countries. In every democratic system the fundamental power belongs to citizens, which gains the meaning of their big responsibility and consciousness of cautious and apt deciding. In this order there are formed well-organized national political education systems, which structures depend on dynamic growth of knowledge society. In Poland this kind of education proceeds in a very spontaneous way as a result of active civil participation in political, social and economic life, everyday observation of the activities of political elites, the course of national policy and comparing them with political practice of other countries. This report would show the condition of political education system in Germany in the age of knowledge society development, which can inspire to seek and identify the best way of Polish model matched the competitiveness standards in European Union. Th e next parts of this article would present the following aspects:
• historical foundation of political education in Germany;
• political education in Germany within school system;
• political education in Germany within non-formal and long-life education;
• global knowledge society’s challenges in view of the education;
• political education in Germany in view of the global knowledge society’s challenges.
