The aim of the article is to discuss the challenges faced by second-generation migrant representatives portrayed in the film Chinas directed by Arantxa Echevarria. Although the discussed fi lm tells the story of individuals belonging to the Chinese diaspora in Spain, it includes numerous elements showcasing universal experiences of young people growing up in migrant families. In this study, these elements have been analyzed in relation to the research on phenomena accompanying such experiences, such as identity conflicts, language brokering, parentification, and cultural hybridization.
