Generally:

1. Text file in .doc, .docx or .rtf format only.
2. Margins: Microsoft Word standard (2.5 cm).
3. Separate words with one space only.
4. Justify the text and insert page numbers (bottom of the page, in the middle).
5. Set indentation by use of tabulation (automatical). Do not use additional spacing between paragraphs.
6. For emphasis use spacing (do not use bold type or italics). Example: direction
7. Use italics to mark the words in the other language than article’s language.
8. When mentioning a real person for the first time, please provide their full name (names).
9. Provide titles of magazines or publishing cycles and series in inverted commas and without italics. Provide all other titles (including titles of paintings, pictures, films, video games, magazine articles, atlases, dictionaries, encyclopaedias) in italics, without inverted commas.
10. When mentioning for the first time works translated from other languages, please provide – if possible – the original title, date of its publication, and the date of the publication of the English edition in parentheses. Example: Invasion of the Sea (L’invasion de la mer, 1905, Engl. 2001). When providing the title of the film, add the original title, the name of the director, the country and date of production. Example: Marriage Italian Style (Matrimonio all’ italiana, dir. V. De Sica, Italy/France 1964).
11. Provide full titles of all quoted works – along with the subtitles.
12. Use […] as a mark of excluding a portion of a text, NOT (…). Use square brackets for your own additional remarks e.g. [emphasis J.D.], [trans. J.D.].
13. Do not use […] at the beginning or at the end of a quotation unless it is justified (exception: poetry).
14. Differentiate between a hyphen (-) and an en dash (–).
15. When mentioning the editor of a given work use “ed.”.

 

Quotations

1. For quotations do not use italics, do not alter the font size, and do not insert additional line spacing to break it away from the main body of the text.
2. Include the quotations in the text, and distinguish them only by adding quotation marks and footnotes. Example: ‘Warsaw is the capital city of Poland’. Exception: block quotations (longer than 4 lines) from poetic texts.

 

Composition

Please provide information in the following order:

1. Name and surname of the author;
2. the title of the article (do not place a dot after the title of the paper);
3. Open Research and Contributor ID (ORCID) number;
4. affiliation (name of university/workplace) and the country;
5. keywords (8 to 10) in the language of text (if different from English) and in English;
6. a comprehensive abstract (1,400 to 1,600 characters including spaces) in English, including the English title of the article (if the language of text is not in English);
7. the content of the article;
8. alphabetically ordered (by the author’s surnames) bibliography of quoted works (in a form of a list) including electronic sources (e-books and websites), filmography, ludography etc. with full first names (not initials) of the authors, performers, producers, translators, editors, authors of prefaces, introductions and afterwords, if these persons are specified in the bibliographical reference documenting a given quotation.

5. do not use MLA citation format;
6. insert the number of the footnote in the main body of the text before punctuation marks. Example: garden¹. NOT: garden.¹;
7. do not indent either the first or all lines of the note;
8. use the abbreviation cit. with italics;
9. provide the name of the publisher, place and year of publication and the page numbers appropriate to the quotation;
10. if the place of publication is not provided in the work, please give the name of the publisher and the page numbers only;
11. give initials (do not insert spaces between the initials) of names instead of full names – the same applies to translators, editors etc.;
12. in reference works give the information on the page numbers with p. (not pp.);
13. give full pagination numbers of quoted pages: e.g. p. 127-128, NOT: 127-8.
