Abstrakt

The relationship between the Polish United Workers’ Party elites and the Roman Catholic Church in the period of transition as exemplified by the Kraków Voivodeship

The author of the article intends to discuss the important role of the Roman Catholic Church in the period of political transformation. He claims that a discourse on the shape of the denominational policy at the level of voivodeships is still nonexistent. The purpose of this text is a partial complement of a fundamental gap in research, as well as a detailed description of the relationship between the party elites and the Roman Catholic Church in the Kraków Voivodeship during the transition period. The author claims that the attitudes of the most important PUWP members towards the Roman Catholic Church were ambivalent and essentially based on commands sent from Warsaw. The impact of the Cracowian dignitaries on the shape of the relationship with the Roman Catholic Church resulted from executing tasks on behalf of the higher party structures.

Ставлення партійних еліт ПOРП до католицької церкви в період режимної трансформації на прикладі Краківського воєводства

Метою проведеного в статті аналізу є обґрунтування позиції автора в дискусії довкола режимної трансформації, в якій католицька церква відіграла дуже важливу роль. До сих пір бракує обговорення характеру конфесійної політики польської влади на воєводському рівні. Стаття має на меті часткове заповнення цієї істотної прогалини в дослідженнях та опис ставлення партійних еліт до католицької церкви в Краківському воєводстві в період трансформації. Ставлення членів керівних партійних органів до католицької церкви в період режимної трансформації мало бівалентний характер і в значній мірі було зумовлене наказами, які надсилалися центральною владою з Варшави. Вплив краківського керівництва на характер відносин з цією інституцією був пов’язаний із виконуванням завдань, визначених вищими партійними структурами.
