Abstract

Provo’s, Kabouters, Krakers... of over de revolutie vroeger en nu

The sixties of the 20th century were a time of great social and cultural changes in the USA, Germany, Czechoslovakia or Poland. In the Netherlands, the Provo movement, lead by Roel van Duijn and Robert Jasper Grootveld, influenced these changes from 1965 on. The Kabouters movement which on its part influenced partly the Polish Pomarańczowa Alternatywa of Waldemar Fydrych in the eighties and the Krakers, starting in the late sixties as a squatting movement, followed. Provo, Kabouters and Krakers are, in the eyes of Roel van Duijn, three links of one long revolution. He expects now a new phase of this revolution to begin. This article poses the question: is Roel van Duijn right?
