Abstrakt

On a certain concept of a “race of the future”

Previous discussions about the concept of a race were focused on the past and on how it was present in the present. The topic of this paper is the concept of a “race of the future” with a particular focus on José Vasconcelos’ “Space Race.” The aim of the paper is to analyse the historical controversy associated with the phenomenon of “race-mixing,” assumptions of Vasconcelos’ theory and various problematic issues such as fetishising miscegenation or aesthetic eugenics. In addition, the author attempts to interpret miscegenation in the context of contemporary philosophical disputes.
