For Authors

  1. The Editorial Team of “Prace Kulturoznawcze” welcomes regular submissions and articles responding to a thematic call for papers. The Editorial Team also accepts reviews of the Polish and international academic publications.
  2. Regular submissions should be sent electronically to the Editorial Board’s email address prace.kulturoznawcze@uwr.edu.pl
  3. Manuscripts should be prepared in line with the style guide available on the website of the Wrocław University Press https://wuwr.eu/wskazowki-dla-autorow/  and adapted to the Journal’s guidelines.
  4. Manuscripts should be submitted in an editable format (doc./docx./rtf). The maximum recommended lengths are:
    1. 40,000 characters including spaces for articles
    2. 20,000 characters including spaces for reviews
  5. By submitting a manuscript, the Author declares that he/she is the holder of the author’s economic rights to the work; that the work is free from any legal defects; that the work submitted has not been published before, partially or in full, and is not under consideration for publication anywhere else.
  6. Authors retain the copyright to their articles and grant the publisher of the journal a non-exclusive licence for the publication of the paper, free of charge. See Open access and copyright.

  7. The journal does not charge the Author any fees for publication. The Author waives the right to any remuneration for the submitted manuscript.
  8. If any figures are to be included in the manuscript, the Author is required to submit each figure as an image file at a resolution of 300 dpi. The Author is responsible for obtaining permission from copyright holder(s) for reproducing any figures in the “Prace Kulturoznawcze” journal.
  9. The manuscript should be submitted together with:
    1. an abstract and keywords in Polish (up to 1600 characters including spaces);
    2. an abstract and keywords in English (up to 1600 characters including spaces);
    3. a short bionote (up to 600 characters including spaces);
    4. a list of references that are cited in your work (at the end of the paper);
    5. the ORCID number and affiliation;
    6. a funding information that explains whether and by whom the research was supported.
  10. Within 30 days following submission, the Author is informed whether the manuscript was accepted and sent out for peer review or rejected. The Editor may request the Author to revise the manuscript.
  11. The manuscripts submitted to „Prace Kulturoznawcze” are subject the Peer Review Process.
  12. After all the reviewers’ reports are received, the Editor informs the Author about the results. If the manuscript needs revision, the Author is required to submit a revised manuscript within an agreed time limit.
  13. After the final version of the manuscript is accepted, the Author is informed about the publication date.
  14. The manuscripts published in "Prace Kulturoznawcze" are subject to copyediting at the Wrocław University Press. The university press reserves the right to make editorial corrections. The Author is required to proofread the final version of the manuscript within an agreed time limit. Should the Author fail to make final corrections, the proof is deemed to have been accepted by the Author.
  15. Upon publication of an article, the Author receives one free print copy of the "Prace Kulturoznawcze" issue. All the articles are made available free of charge in the PDF format on the Journal's website.
