Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present theoretical assumptions and practical implementation of crowdfunding in the socio-political sphere in Europe. The article presents a functional perspective (Who? How? Why? When is a political crowdfunding campaign initiated?). The
first part of the article presents key terms, literature review and builds an analytical framework. Then, European political crowdfunding projects are analyzed in the context of recent political events in Europe. The article uses content analysis as the research method, the implementation of which has enabled the analysis of existing literature on the subject.
