The problems of Weberian social science from the perspective of Leo Strauss
The paper is an analysis of Weberian social science from the perspective of Leo Strauss. It consists of the critical presentation of Max Weber’s ideas, his epistemological views and understanding of the relation between ethics and social science. Strauss points at the difficulties in Weber’s thought, especially those concerning value-neutrality and historical understanding. It is an outline of Strauss’s diagnosis.
