Instructions for Authors
Terms of publication
1. Texts submitted to the Board of Editors should conform to technical requirements and terms of publication.
2. Texts should be submitted by creating an account on the website of “Wrocławskie Studia Politologiczne”. The journal uses Open Journal Systems for managing manuscript submissions.
3. The text should be a standardised computer-edited text saved in PC Word text editor. The name of the file should be the name of the text’s Author.
4. A scientific article should have at least 0.5 publishing sheets, i.e. at least 20,000 characters (including spaces), including the title, abstract, main text (including footnotes) and references. Authors are asked not to exceed 30,000 characters.
5. Reviews and reports should have maximum 10,000 characters (including spaces).
6. Detailed information about text formatting and references is defined in the enclosed Technical Requirements. Articles which do not conform to these standards shall not be accepted.
7. The submitted file with an article should include: 1) title page with the Author’s (Authors’) name(s), ORCID number(s), affiliation contact details (address, telephone, e-mail), abstract and title in English (up to 800 characters including spaces), short note about the Author (up to 400 characters including spaces), as well as key words in Polish and English (up to 6), 2) manuscript of the article with repeated title and including no data or information that could identify the Author(s) – starting on a new page. All these should be sent to the Editors in one file.
8. Author(s) of the text are obliged to disclose contribution of particular Authors in development of the text (quoting their affiliation and contribution, i.e. who authored the concept, assumptions, methods, protocol etc. as used in preparation of the publication), while the main responsibility is borne by the Author who submits the article. The Author(s) are also obliged to disclose information about any sources of funding, contribution of scientific institutions, associations and other entities (financial disclosure). Author’s Declaration should be sent along with the text.
9. A review or report file should include: 1) title page with the Author’s (Authors’) name(s), affiliation, contact details (address, telephone, e-mail), 2) manuscript of the review/report, starting on a new page. In the case of reviews Authors are asked to provide full reference data of the reviewed work (including number of pages).
10. The Author’s sending of an article to the Editing Board of the journal means a declaration that the Authors holds proprietary copyright to the text, that the text is free from legal flaws and that it has not been published before, in its entirety or part thereof and that it has not been submitted to another journal; it means also a free-of-charge consent for publication of the text in “Wrocławskie Studia Politologiczne”, its distribution without limitation of time or territory, including marketing of copies of the journal and their availability online. When a text is accepted, its Author and Wrocław University Press sign an agreement concerning publication of a scientific work. Authors do not receive royalties for the provided articles, reviews or reports. Upon publication of the text, the Author receives one copy of the journal for free.
11. The journal expects all Authors to respect rules of scientific integrity. It strongly objects to ghostwriting (failure to disclose names of authors who made a significant contribution to the work) and guest authorship (granting authorship/co-authorship to a person who had no or hardly any contribution to development of the work). Ghostwriting and guest authorship are dishonest and any cases of such practices will be disclosed, including notification to respective institutions (the authors’ employers, scientific associations, associations of scientific editors etc.). Authors are asked to submit a filled-in Author’s Declaration along with the text.
12. The Editors’ Board and Publishing House reserve a right to make editorial corrections of the text. The Author is obliged to implement corrections and improvements suggested by the Editors and Reviewers within 10 days after receiving them. Authors are obliged to author’s correction within 10 days after receiving the text. Failure to complete the correction within the set date means the author’s consent to publication of the version sent for correction.
13. Decision on publication of the text in a specific issue of the journal is taken by the Board of Editors.
