Volume 23 of the Dutch-language journal Neerlandica Wratislaviensia edited by prof. Stefan Kiedroń (University of Wrocław), contains 6 articles and 2 reviews. The language of the volume is Dutch and English (review of a book published in English). Neerlandica Wratislaviensia provides an opportunity for researchers from different academic backgrounds to publish. The articles analyze Dutch literature and culture in a broad European context - from the Middle Ages to the present. There are references to Polish literature, culture and history (Agnieszka Patała, Jan Urbaniak), as well as comparative studies of Dutch and Czech literature at the end of the 19th century (Zuzana Vaidová). Young researchers (Alexa Stoicescu, Przemyslaw Paluszek) present new perspectives on familiar topics (prose by Dutch writer Hafid Bouazza, the "Batavian myth"). Neerlandica Wratislaviensia also publishes articles by well-known Dutch specialists whose knowledge, complemented by the innovative and daring research of a new generation of scholars, makes a valuable contribution to the development of Dutch studies worldwide. Volume 23 presents Agnes Sneller's text on the work of the eminent seventeenth-century poet Joost van den Vondel. The volume also contains reviews: of the book by Duco Hellema, Ryszard Żelichowski, and Bert van der Zwan on Polish-Dutch relations (Patrycja Matusz-Protasiewicz and Daniel Šitera) and that of Hubert Meeus' book on Catholic literature in Delft in the years 1450-1650 (Marcin Polkowski).
